Café fitout
A bare retail shell wired for a forty-seat café with a fixed opening date.
What we found and did
The tenancy had previously been a phone repair shop and had almost none of the power a café needed. Three-phase supply reached the boundary but was not distributed through the building. The espresso machine had been chosen, but the ovens and other kitchen equipment were still changing. The opening date could not move because rent started from that day.
We sized the kitchen circuits for the equipment the café could grow into, not just the list available that week. The larger cable cost a little more but avoided another board change later. Each piece of kitchen equipment went on its own circuit so one fault would not stop service. We split the front-of-house lighting into counter, seating and window circuits, allowing each area to be adjusted separately. During the final week we worked at night to stay out of the joiners' way.
The result
The café opened on the date required by the lease. The oven that arrived was larger than the original specification, but the circuit was already sized for it. No board changes or delays were needed.
