Six electricians and four vans

Southline has worked across Canterbury since 2011. The people and projects shown here are invented for this concept website.

We stayed small on purpose

Southline started in 2011 with one electrician, one van and plenty of older Christchurch homes needing electrical work.

Today there are six registered electricians and four vans. That is about the size we want to remain. Growing further would put more distance between the person who quotes your job and the person who turns up to do it.

Staying small means we cannot take every job. It also means you deal with the same people from the first visit to the final test. If something is not right afterwards, you can talk to someone who was actually there.

The people behind the work

Six registered electricians

Every electrician holds a current practising licence. The person who quotes your job will usually be the one who does the work.

Two apprentices

Both are working towards registration and work on site alongside a registered electrician.

Two directors, still on the tools

Both directors still spend most weeks on site. It keeps them close to the work and is one reason the business has stayed small.

One person on scheduling

The same person books the work, sends the quotes and lets you know if we are running late. You will not be passed through a call centre.

Southline Electrical is fictional. This button demonstrates how calling would work on a real trade website. There is no phone line, so no call can be placed.
